Aquila Catamarans successfully concluded its participation in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2025, unveiling the brand-new Aquila 36 Molokai in its world premiere and the refined Aquila 46 Yacht in its U.S. premiere. The event, held from October 29 to November 2, provided the perfect stage for the Clearwater-based shipyard’s full range, which also showcased the Aquila 54 Yacht, 50 Yacht, 47 Molokai and 42 Coupe, reaffirming steady growth and an ever-broader vision of the international market.

Aquila Catamarans, world debut for the 36 Molokai

The new Aquila 36 Molokai made its world debut as a sport-fishing catamaran designed to offer the perfect balance of offshore performance, comfort and practicality. Measuring 11.63 meters in length with a beam of 3.59 meters, the Molokai 36 stands out for its double-stepped hull, its infused vinylester construction with carbon-fiber reinforcements, and a full carbon hardtop that ensures both rigidity and lightness.

The boat can be powered by twin 300 hp Mercury V8 engines, or by optional V10 versions with 400, 425 or 500 hp, unleashing the full potential of a sporty catamaran built to take on even the most demanding offshore runs. With a full-load displacement of about 8,800 kilos and 1,924 liters of fuel, it offers generous range, while the 508-gallon tanks allow for long days of fishing or cruising with no compromises.

Aquila 36 Molokai

The single-level deck provides seamless movement from bow to stern and excellent access to the water. At the stern, the central hatch with integrated dive ladder makes it easy to get in and out of the water, while the tuna door and bait-prep station underscore the boat’s sport-fishing DNA.

The enclosed cabin, accessed from the starboard side, offers a comfortable space for two people, featuring a double berth, toilet and sink. The area can be air-conditioned thanks to an optional package, making overnight stays on board possible.

Aquila Catamarans’ design philosophy shines through in the balance between sportiness and comfort. Jean Raas, CEO and Chief Product Officer of Aquila USA, explained: “The 36 Molokai represents our vision of what a modern fishing catamaran should be. We collaborated with Peart Yacht Design on the engineering, but the concept grew from listening to what anglers truly want: a boat that can handle the sea yet also adapt as a versatile platform for the family or as a yacht tender. The cabin with a dedicated toilet compartment is what clearly sets us apart in this segment”.

Aquila 46Aquila Catamarans, the U.S. premiere of the 46 Yacht

After the success achieved at the Cannes Yachting Festival, where it made its world debut, the Aquila 46 Yacht made its official entry into the American market at Fort Lauderdale. Measuring 14.36 meters in length with a beam of 7.10 meters, this model marks a significant step forward in cruising-catamaran design, offering an ideal combination of interior volume, comfort and performance.

Aquila Catamarans 46 view

The structure is built in infused vinylester with a PVC core, with no plywood in the structural components and watertight bulkheads both forward and aft. The high-level build quality is evident in the layout: the panoramic salon with large tempered-glass windows features a U-shaped dining area, a fully equipped galley and a large opposing sofa. The flybridge, protected by a fiberglass hardtop, offers a comfortable social space with sunpads, a wet bar and a helm station for three, ensuring excellent visibility.

The interiors stand out for their brightness and quality finishes, with cabins configurable from three to five depending on the owner’s needs. In the three-cabin version, the owner’s suite spans the full beam and includes a king-size bed, private bathroom with double sinks and a separate shower. The guest cabins, each with private bathroom, are furnished with queen-size beds and large hull windows.

The Aquila 46 Yacht is available with twin Volvo Penta D4 engines producing 320 hp, or alternatively with D6 engines generating 480 hp or 550 hp Yanmars, offering balanced speed and fuel efficiency. The 1,800-liter fuel tanks, with an additional optional 800 liters, provide excellent range, while the 800-liter freshwater tank and 240-liter blackwater tank make the vessel perfectly suited for extended cruising.

Jean Raas emphasized that the Aquila 46 Yacht represents “our commitment to bringing the innovation of larger yachts to more accessible platforms. This yacht delivers the spaciousness, capability and level of luxury our clients expect from Aquila Catamarans, while maintaining a more intimate scale—perfect for couples or small groups looking to enjoy premium experiences on the water”. His remarks were followed by those of Alain Rass: “These two new models reflect our vision for power-catamaran design: reinventing the fishing boat and bringing yacht-level innovation to more compact sizes”, added the Global Brand Director of Aquila Catamarans.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2025 is ready to welcome two true icons of Italian excellence. From October 29 to November 2, Pardo Yachts returns to Florida with a strong presence that reaffirms its bond with the American market and the shipyard’s international vocation. Taking center stage will be two exceptional models: the new Pardo 43, an evolution of the icon that redefined the concept of the luxury walkaround, and the Endurance 72, the flagship of the long-range line making its debut in Fort Lauderdale and bringing across the ocean a new idea of efficient, refined cruising.

Two yachts with very different philosophies, yet united by the same vision: that of Cantiere del Pardo, which for over fifty years has been building boats that combine design, performance, and comfort with an unmistakable aesthetic identity.

Pardo 43 turning

New Pardo 43: the natural evolution of an icon

The Pardo 43 is the model that marked the beginning of Pardo Yachts’ story back in 2017. Since then, over 300 units have been delivered worldwide, making it one of the most recognizable walkarounds on the market. Today, after seven years of success, the shipyard presents a new version that doesn’t revolutionize but rather evolves the original, refining every detail without betraying its DNA.

As Gigi Servidati, President of Cantiere del Pardo, explains, “this new version isn’t a restyling, but a coherent evolution—a step forward born from experience and from listening to our owners”. The result is a more sophisticated, more technologically advanced, and even more comfortable yacht that preserves the perfect balance of elegance and sportiness that made the brand famous.

The exterior lines were developed through the collaboration between Zuccheri Yacht Design and the Nauta Design studio. The goal was clear: to enhance functionality and livability without altering the 43’s iconic silhouette. The new hull windows, introduced for the first time, flood the interiors with natural light; the carbon T-top has been redesigned to offer greater structural rigidity and cleaner lines; and the enlarged, optimized outdoor galley now serves as a true convivial area on board.

drone view

At the bow, a new forward-facing bench offers guests another spot to gather while cruising, while aft, the sunpad—now inspired by the GT52—has been redesigned to provide even more space and comfort. The new, larger windshield improves protection and visibility, while the retractable sliding companionway door creates a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces, emphasizing the walkaround philosophy that made the model so iconic.

The helm station, too, is completely new. It now features a boat automation system developed with Garmin and customized for Pardo Yachts, simplifying the management of all onboard functions. Comfort is ensured by a Dometic air conditioning system that also serves the bathroom—a rare detail for boats of this size.
For maximum stability, the owner can choose between Seakeeper or Quick stabilizers, while Starlink satellite connectivity guarantees fast internet access even on long-range cruises.

From a construction point of view, the Pardo 43 stays true to the shipyard’s tradition: vinylester resin infusion lamination, foam sandwich for the deck and hull sides, carbon reinforcements, and a carbon fiber T-top. The result is a stiff, quiet, and perfectly balanced boat that sets a new standard in its category.

Pardo 43 interiors

The new Pardo 43 also marks an important milestone in the brand’s history: for the first time, it’s available in an outboard version, developed specifically for the American market. Alongside the traditional Volvo Penta IPS 500, 600, and 650 inboard options, the model now offers three 400 hp Mercury V10 engines (standard) or three 600 hp Mercury V12 engines (optional). Each configuration comes with a dedicated hull, designed to optimize the characteristics of the chosen propulsion system. This dual soul enhances the 43’s versatility, making it even more suitable for every kind of owner and sea.

For the first time, the interiors are designed by Nauta Design. Below deck, the Pardo 43 offers two layouts: one with a forward owner’s cabin and twin aft cabins, and another with a dinette that converts into a double bed. New fabric and leather finishes, padded ceilings, and improved ambient lighting create a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. The headroom in the aft cabin has been increased by 8 cm for a greater sense of space, while the option to install a 32” TV and new storage compartments adds both comfort and functionality.

Pardo Endurance 72

Endurance 72: the flagship makes its American debut

The Pardo Endurance 72, the jewel of the long-range line, will also be on display at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. Designed for long-distance cruising, this yacht represents the ultimate expression of the “Endurance” philosophy: sailing slowly, quietly, efficiently, and independently—enjoying the journey rather than the destination.

Designed by BurdissoCapponi Yachts & Design, the project combines contemporary elegance with meticulous attention to comfort and efficiency. The multi-level interiors create a “villa on the sea” effect, with open, continuous spaces, floating furnishings, and clever use of natural light through the large, full-height windows.

The layout features an open-space main deck that seamlessly connects the panoramic salon, the galley, and the aft lounge area, with a spacious dining zone sheltered by a glass hard top that can be opened. Below deck, there are four cabins, each with its own en suite bathroom: a full-beam owner’s suite, a forward VIP cabin, and two guest cabins on the sides. The crew has a dedicated area with separate access.

From a technical standpoint, the Endurance 72 introduces advanced solutions for greater efficiency and autonomy. The hull – the result of extensive hydrodynamic research – is optimized to ensure low fuel consumption and excellent stability even at low speeds, perfectly suited for “slow cruising.” The propulsion system includes two Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1350 engines (or equivalent configurations), with the option to integrate solar panels for sustainable energy management.

interior

The sound insulation and weight distribution ensure quiet operation with minimal vibrations and outstanding onboard comfort. Every detail has been designed for extended stays at sea: large freshwater and fuel tanks, generous storage spaces, and a wide hydraulic stern platform that can be used to launch the tender or as a true terrace on the water. With a lenght of over 22 meters, the Endurance 72 stands out as a yacht that perfectly combines efficiency, comfort, and Italian style, embodying the new frontier of long-range cruising by Pardo Yachts.

Greenline Yachts had a major presence at the world’s largest in-water boat show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held from October 30th to Novembre 3rd. With no fewer than four of its innovative hybrid models on the water, it was a real showcase of the Slovenian yard’s capabilities. Specifically, visitors had the opportunity to admire the Greenline 39, the Greenline 40, the Greenline 45 Fly and the Greenline 48 Fly, along with the US premiere of the new 6G Hybrid system that is scheduled to become the standard of the whole range.

Greenline yachts-48-exterior-2

Greenline Yachts is excited to be back in Fort Lauderdale, where it has enjoyed so much success in the past – said owner and CEO Vladimir Zinchenko – The American market has long appreciated the user-inspired features that make Greenline yachts so livable, not to mention the potential for silent electric operation. And this year, there is a stronger incentive than ever to join the Greenline family, as Washington state is waiving sales tax on new hybrid yachts. That could mean savings in excess of $100,000 for smart buyers”.

GL-40

The 6G Hybrid System Revolution

Greenline Yachts has been a pioneer in hybrid marine technology since 2008, combining electric propulsion with conventional diesel power to maximize efficiency and minimize noise. At the heart of today’s lineup is the innovative 6G Hybrid Drive, part of a cutting-edge power management solution that seamlessly blends solar energy, shore power, and a diesel engine.

With the 6G H-Drive, Greenline boats can instantly switch between electric and diesel modes. In electric mode, you enjoy the serenity of near-silent cruising for up to 20 nautical miles – perfect for peaceful coastal journeys or quiet anchorages. For longer adventures or when higher speeds are required, the diesel engine efficiently powers the yacht while recharging the batteries, ensuring no energy goes to waste.

This system is available across Greenline’s entire range of yachts, from 39ft to 58ft, offering a more sustainable way of yachting. In fact, real world testing shows that the 6G H-Drive can reduce the carbon footprint of using a Greenline yacht by up to 40%. Whether you’re navigating in electric mode or relying on diesel for extended range, the system delivers an unmatched balance of efficiency and performance, making every voyage a responsible choice for the environment.

Greenline yachts-solar-panels

Greenline Yachts propulsion is unparalleled

Greenline’s patented 6G H-Drive offers a significant advantage, especially when compared to the competition – said CCO Luca RaumlandBut it’s not just about the hybrid system—since 2008, every Greenline yacht has come standard with our highly efficient diesel engines, a solar roof, and a lithium battery bank. This setup allows you to power all on-board appliances without ever needing a generator, making it as close to emissions-free as possible. The configuration is also ideal for regions where 24/7 air conditioning isn’t necessary, offering a quiet and eco-friendly experience. However, we noticed that many of our clients still preferred a backup generator, specially where air-condition is needed, so we knew we had to take things to the next level. To ensure our standard, non-hybrid Greenlines are also generator-free, we’ve spent the past year testing a solution that combines our hybrid battery technology with upgraded alternators. Today, we can confidently say that this setup eliminates the need for diesel generators—even for those who want to run air conditioning!

Starting in 2025, this will become the new standard across our entire fleet as part of our ongoing commitment to responsible yachting and reducing emissions in everyday operations”.

Absolute Yachts never misses an opportunity to showcase its unique approach to yachting luxury at every boat show it attends. This was also the case at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), held from October 30 to November 3. As the world’s largest in-water boat show, FLIBS featured over 1,000 brands, more than 1,300 boats on display, over 100,000 visitors, and an estimated economic impact of $1.79 billion.

Among the standout exhibitors was Absolute Yachts, showcasing five yachts from its fleet, including the Navetta 70, which made its U.S. debut and drew public attention with its innovative and cutting-edge design. Other Absolute models on display included the Navetta 75, the 52 Fly, the Navetta 52, and the Navetta 48.

With its remarkable appearance, complete range of amenities, and exceptional cruising comfort, the Navetta 70 stood out as one of the stars of FLIBS 2024. Its expansive interiors are hallmarked by Absolute‘s habitual excellence in the use of high-quality natural materials, with a sophisticated colour scheme based on white, black, and grey with details in bronze and stainless steel. The vast windows provide exceptional views of the seascapes, which can also be enjoyed from the outdoor areas, and in particular from the exceptionally spacious flybridge which itself comprises a sequence of perfectly integrated spaces. The flybridge has a high-tech helm station, dining facilities with table, outdoor galley, wet bar, a retractable canopy for shade, and an aft leisure area with furniture that can be rearranged to your taste.

Alongside the Navetta 70 was the Navetta 75, the flagship in Absolute’s fleet, winner of the 2022 World Yacht Trophies Prize for “Best Interior Design” at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Navetta 75 feels much larger than its actual length, a result of its state-of-the-art marine architecture in which all the constructional details heighten the sense of contact with the marine setting. The brand’s hallmark features showcased here include extensive glazing, sliding doors, superb interiors with carefully-designed lighting, beautiful furnishings crafted in the finest materials by skilled Italian artisans, and a sense of space optimized by ample headroom and a limited use of steps.
Outside, the decks offer a combination of comfort and flexibility, with modular furniture that can be rearranged to suit the occasion, retractable canopies for shade, and a convenient beach platform for access to the sea and water toys.

At FLIBS 2024, the Absolute 52 Fly made a grand return after its debut in Miami last year. Far more expansive and more comprehensively equipped when compared to other boats in its category. the 52 Fly is a constant surprise for the massive sense of space it presents, with a superbly detailed salon connected to a well-equipped galley that features a large pantry and a fullheight fridge-freezer. The full-beam owner stateroom is located in the bow for optimum privacy and peacefulness, a VIP stateroom midship whose luxurious finish is worthy of a second master stateroom, a third twin-berth cabin, and a multi-function crew cabin. The deck areas comprise a cockpit terrace with open bulwarks for the best possible views of the sea; a very beautiful flybridge that is always a favourite with owner and guests for its privileged views and comprehensive furnishings, and the bow area with triple sun lounges, settees and table.

Absolute 52 Fly

With the Navetta 52, Absolute won the Adriatic Boat of the Year award in the category from 51 to 60 feet. Its architecture is specifically designed to ensure maximum possible enjoyment during a cruise in whatever the conditions. Absolute’s attention to detail ensures a high level of liveability in all its spaces, from the flybridge with its high-tech helm surrounded by sofas, outdoor galley, dining table and terrace, to the sun loungers at the bows for enjoyment and socializing. Inside the main salon, the extensive glazing ensures all-round views, opening onto the cockpit to create a functional space looking over the water. Interior space on the lower deck is optimised by sliding doors and generous headroom throughout the three guest staterooms. These comprise a spacious full-beam master cabin midships with a superbly-appointed en-suite bathroom, a VIP stateroom in the bow with an equally high level of luxury and elegance, and a third cabin with two single berths. As in all Absolute yachts, the premium-quality materials used throughout ensure constant enjoyment in every detail. The Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system delivers excellent performance and reduced fuel consumption.

Navetta 52
Navetta 52

Last but not least, the Navetta 48 eloquently expresses all the essential features of the
Absolute Yachts brand’s unique approach to marine design, optimizing space and light to ensure an unforgettable experience on board. Superb comfort, extensive storage space, and the constant feel of class and luxury imparted by the premium quality materials used throughout are the key features of this yacht. All the interiors are enhanced by panoramic views and high ceilings, with a sense of generous space that far exceeds the boat’s physical dimensions. In particular, the salon comprises a roomy galley perfectly positioned with respect to the cockpit, and the owner benefits from the exceptional visibility provided by a windshield without central columns. A side door provides rapid access to the side deck for convenience during mooring operations. The accommodations of the
Navetta 48 are comprised of a master cabin in the bow with walk-round bed with en-suite bathroom, separate shower, and walk-in closet. The VIP suite acts as a second master cabin thanks to its amenities, and a third cabin features twin beds. A fourth cabin aft can be used for an extra guest or crew.

Just a year after her larger sibling made a splash, the new Jeanneau DB/37 OB was introduced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this October. The previous DB/43 was such a hit that the French builder developed a smaller model which doesn’t require as big of a slip or as fat a wallet. The “DB” stands for “day boat” but this Michael Peters and Camillo Garroni collaboration is so much more. With her versatile deck and comfortable interior, she’s like an open express boat but with a cruiser’s heart.

The inside scoop

I joined a group aboard the DB/37 OB at the show. I assumed they were fellow journalists but it turned out I was an interloper in a dealer training session designed to teach their sales personnel how to walk a client through this new boat. They let me stay and I learned a lot.

The overall design leans into the Nordic aesthetic with a plumb bow, contoured hull sides and a low hardtop that swoops back from the one-piece windshield. It’s a good-looking profile and one which is gaining popularity in the US, especially when powered by outboards.

You board by stepping onto the swim platform by the engines. Immediately, you’re met by the main social area that includes twin facing benches flanking an athwartships hi/lo table. It’s a bit of an origami installation because you can move the bench seatbacks forward or aft creating different seating configurations, and you can also lower the table and make the whole thing into a giant sunbed with a filler cushion.

Back here, the Jeanneau DB/37 OB has a trick up her sleeve – in fact, two tricks. The hull bulwarks on the quarters of both sides drop down to form twin terraces, each with stanchions and added rope rails. These expanding decks lower electrically and increase the usable space aboard with a 16-foot beam when open. They’re also terrific places to put on snorkel gear, play with the kids, jump into the water without coming near the engines, or just lounge and soak up the sun. Many boats in this class offer one terrace but the DB/37 OB serves up two.

Amidships is the outdoor galley with a grill on one side, a cooktop on the other, and a sink in the middle. Popup lights and cupholders are outboard on both sides. The work surface is Corian and below the counter you’ll find storage space and a refrigerator. The chef is in the center of the social hub to serve diners at the table with just one or two steps. The galley is tucked under the full-beam hardtop and the settee is protected with an extending electric sunshade.

Just ahead is a line of triple bucket seats, the middle of which is for the helm on the centerline. Twin Garmin screens meet the driver, displaying all onboard information from navigation to boat systems via the digital switching platform. To the right of the wheel are the throttles and joystick. When alone, the driver can quickly walk to either side and tie up a spring line onto the well-placed midship cleats.

The glass windshield has two wipers and is held up by relatively thin mullions so there aren’t large blind spots. The hardtop can hold side curtains so for climates that are either too hot or cold, you can enclose the helm and galley with isinglass and extend your boating season.

The DB/37 OB is symmetrical so the side decks that lead to the bow are identical. The walkways are deep and offer secure stainless handrails all the way forward. At the bow, there’s another enormous sun pad with integral cupholders, an opening anchor locker and a bow roller.

To my eye, a short, integrated composite bowsprit would be a more aesthetically pleasing way to carry the anchor since the stainless roller sticks out in an odd way and takes away from this boat’s overall sleekness.

Comfort inside the Jeanneau DB/37 OB

Two cabins and a fully enclosed head welcome you below. The master is forward with a centerline island bed, good headroom, lots of stowage options, and plenty of light from the hull windows, the overhead hatch, and indirect lighting. The second cabin aft has twin berths that can be made into one bed with a filler cushion in between. This full-beam cabin could serve as the master stateroom for owners who prefer a king-sized bed and don’t mind lower headroom.

The fully enclosed head has a separate shower stall that can accommodate someone up to 6’ 3” tall. At the foot of the steps, there’s more galley equipment including another fridge and microwave.

The finishes include light wood colors, modern hardware, and fabric-clad bulkheads to help dampen sound. I could spend a week on this “day boat” and not miss any creature comforts.

Propulsion & Options

The Jeanneau DB/37 OB is available with inboard engines and stern drives, but the American market will probably gravitate toward the outboard version which is what I visited at the show. The choice is twin Mercury Verado 400-hp V10s or twin Yamaha 450-hp engines. Joystick control is available as is a supplemental bow thruster. Expect speeds of 28-30 knots so this little cruiser is no slouch.

Additional comfort options include a generator and a Seakeeper gyrostabilizer. The genset can be accessed via the cockpit sole by the galley but the rest of the machinery space is revealed with an electric switch that raises the aft cockpit seating bench and table as one unit. This is where the inboard engines would normally reside but with outboards on the transom, this opens up the boat to additional equipment and plenty of garage stowage space.

Day goes into night

The DB/37 OB is billed as a day boat and it’s certainly a handsome entertainer. That said, there’s no reason you couldn’t coastal cruise on this model for a week or more. In fact, it would also make a viable Great Loop traveler. At just under seven figures fully equipped, this capable little sister holds her own in the DB line and addresses a segment of cruisers looking for a sub-forty-footer that can do so much more than party by day.

New Jolly Prince 33 CC: American premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Europeans are well ahead of US boaters in certain ideas and one of those is using large rigid inflatables (RIBs) as primary yachts rather than just as tenders. One Italian builder who understands this is Nuova Jolly Marine and their designer, Matteo De Francesco, who’s responsible for the Prince 33 CC, a sleek walk-around design with few limits.

Design & propulsion

Nuova Jolly builds center consoles 22-50 feet and has been in business nearly six decades. In that time, they’ve learned a thing or two about fast boats with long legs. The version I visited at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat show was the US premier and was rigged with twin Mercury Verado 400-hp V10 outboards. These are possibly the quietest engines on the market and you can expect a cruising speed around 30 knots. (Inboard propulsion of 700-hp is also available but the US market loves their large outboards so this version will be the most popular.)

Able to take rough water in stride due to the deep-V forward and a 25-degree deadrise, the Prince 33 CC has a fiberglass hull with Hypalon tubes. Up to 12 passengers can enjoy all the onboard space including the forward sunpad that takes up literally the entire bow area, and the U-shaped aft settee with a hi/lo table that converts to another sunbed.

The onboard aesthetic is minimalist with clean lines but also nautical with a teak sole and accents throughout. Italian styling can’t be beat.

The helm & galley of

Nuova Jolly Prince 33 CC

The center console amidships uses the generous 11-foot beam to its advantage. Twin seats face the helm dash that holds a single 12-inch Raymarine MFD, Mercury’s Vessel View screen, a premium audio system with six speakers, a VHF radio, and a bow thruster which comes standard.

Below the helm seats is a refrigerator and when the seats are tilted forward, you can work at the hidden sink and optional cooktop. It’s a small but functional galley so you can provision for a multi-day outing and not go hungry. The entire console and galley area is covered by the hardtop and fronted by a low windshield. Visibility all the way to the bow is excellent as is the storage space throughout the boat from one end to the other.

Weekending potential

The Prince 33 CC can be weekended easily since there is a large air conditioned double cabin below. The enclosed head has a marine toilet, a sink and a shower so there’s really nothing stopping you from stretching your weekend into a week.

Europe is onto something

Nuova Jolly’s co-owner, Teo Aiello, walked us through the boat. He believes in the durability and performance of his product so much, that he took a larger sibling, the Prince 38, across the Atlantic Ocean with one other crewmember. After nearly 1,800 nautical miles, they arrived safely in less than a week with 700 liters of fuel to spare and not looking much worse for the wear.

Wait time for this model is about three months and equipped as we saw it at the show, you’ll pay around $330,000. Nuova Jolly has partnered with Highfield in the US for distribution.

The versatile Prince 33 slots in just about in the middle of the builder’s range. Sure, it would make a sexy tender to a superyacht, but with a cabin, a galley, plenty of storage, and oodles of power, this is a respectable choice for a primary and only vessel in any boater’s fleet. It may be time that American boaters seriously consider RIBs as more than tenders. “It’s the right moment for this concept,” says Aiello. “And this model can go on a real vacation.”

Power catamarans are gaining popularity and taking over cruising with the motto “bigger is better”. Several builders have launched massive 80-foot luxury models and now Prestige officially splashed the M Line with the second in the series, the Prestige Yachts M8. The name implies that this model is also 80 feet – but it’s not. Prestige argues that the 65-foot cat has the space of an 80-foot monohull which is how they came to the name. Regardless of the actual LOA, she’s every inch a voluptuous distance cruiser prepared to deliver a hedonistic lifestyle.

I stepped aboard hull #1 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this October. She’s a lot to take in at first starting with the phenomenal swim platform that lowers to the waterline while breaking into civilized steps. This hydraulic platform is over 14 feet wide, nearly 5 feet deep, and can carry over 1,000 pounds of tender and toys. With three levels to choose from, the platform can be submersed for a teak beach, rest at garage level, or raise high up to become a deck extension off the cockpit above so you have three platforms in one.

Everything about the new Prestige Yachts M8 is about luxurious apartment living on the water since she offers almost 3,000 square feet of space. About 10% of this is in the cockpit, another 10% on the foredeck, and yet another 10% in the master stateroom, but more on this later.

Prestige_M8_00232The aft cockpit is robed in loose furniture so owners can create and change the space often. It’s an open expanse with only the steps to the flybridge to port and a bar area to starboard. As you walk forward on the port side from here to the foredeck, you’ll notice a day head with an exterior entry door. The actual head is tucked into the salon space but is nearly invisible there due to ample use of interior glass and mirrors. This head entry allows guests to use the facilities without going inside in wet bathing suits and with sandy feet.

On the bow, you’ll find a sunbed that looks worthy of a small helicopter landing pad. Forward of that is a sunken lounge with two rows of facing seating and room for low, modular tables in between. When the sun beats down on the aft cockpit at cocktail hour, this will be the civilized shady retreat to enjoy.

The 540-foot flybridge continues with the modular mood. Again, loose furniture allows owners to create personalized conversation nooks, sun-worshipping spaces with chaisse longues, or dining for 10. Two staircases lead to the fly bridge – one from the aft cockpit as mentioned before, and one from the saloon below.

The helm with twin bucket seats is on the centerline. Personally, I prefer the helm on one side or the other so the driver can sight down the side when docking. Twin 22-inch Garmin MFDs form a glass helm and Volvo Penta throttles and joystick are within easy reach of the seat. The helm, outdoor galley and about two thirds of the flybridge are covered by the hardtop that also has an electric fabric sunroof.

Imaginative interior of Prestige Yachts M8

Enter the 500-square foot salon via one of two glass doors. Why two? Because they’re separated by a fixed central island wet bar with a bottle fridge that can serve both the salon inside and the cockpit outside. This addition follows new thinking and we’ll see how owners embrace it.

You can personalize the main deck to your heart’s content with more modular furniture which is provided by one of four selected Italian brands. Our boat had a seating space facing the aft doors, a dining table and chairs in the port corner, and a compact galley to starboard. The galley can be moved down to the accommodations level in place of one guest cabin, leaving more social space on the main deck.

Inboard of the galley is a small helm or control station with an MFD, throttles and joystick. Add a captain’s chair and you have an indoor helm of sorts to complement the main station on the flybridge and the third station on the port side of the cockpit.

You can spec four or five staterooms, plus crew cabins in the bows. The forward owner’s suite occupies more than 300 square feet and stretches (along with the head) across the 29-foot beam. To starboard is a conversation corner with a desk, or anything else you’d like to put here including gym equipment. On port, our model had a king-sized bed placed athwartships and out of view of the salon even with the cabin doors open.

The details, finishes, and treatments are unmatched in this class. I found myself stopping frequently to get a closer look at inlaid wood walls and glass structures which make the entire interior feel light and seamless.

Propulsion & Options

The M8’s propulsion package includes twin 600-hp Volvo Penta D8 diesels with
V-drives. The top speed is around 20 knots at 2900 rpm. At this speed, expect to burn approximately 60 gallons per hour, but if you slow down to a cruising speed around 12 knots, you can enjoy a range of 350 nautical miles and that makes thePrestige Yachts M8 a serious coastal hopper.

With a large bank of lithium batteries and solar panels on the hardtop, it should be possible to spend a silent night (no generator) even with the air conditioning system running. A fully equipped model like hull #1 comes in at $6.2 million.

What’s in a name?

Last year, Prestige introduced the M48 which is 48 feet LOA. It’s likely that this model will be renamed the M6 in some future iteration to become a more consistent part of the M Line. I’m not sure I’m a fan of the naming scheme but I am a fan of the M8 itself. Much out-of-the-box thinking went into this design and since it’s highly customizable, there’s plenty of room for each owner to make it into her own mini superyacht and that has great appeal to all.

Wellcraft Boats, a legendary boating brand for over 65 years, continues its commitment to innovation and excellence. The renowned American boat builder chose the showcase of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held from October 25 to 29 in Miami, to world premiered three new Wellcraft Fisherman powerboat models, intended to bring a wave of freshness and greater comfort to boat fishing enthusiasts, the main target of this series, as the name itself suggests. The innovations concern in particular the new versions of the 223, 243 and 263 models, which have undergone a thorough and interesting restyling. Moreover, Wellcraft Boats also presented the world premiere of the new 435 model at FLIBS: a much larger and better equipped boat, suitable for long fun trips at sea.

The innovations of the Wellcraft Fisherman series

The most popular feature of the Wellcraft Fisherman is the centrally located helm station: this established strength is what the boat builder has built on to further improve comfort when underway. In fact, Wellcraft Boats has redesigned the Fisherman series to include a new windscreen with an electrically-operated air intake, which provides greater visibility and protection, especially in rough seas, and a new helm to accommodate a larger screen and even more onboard technology. What’s more, the fibreglass T-Top supports have been recessed into the centre console to provide more space around it.

compartmentOther interesting upgrades on the new Wellcraft Fisherman models include the cabin, which is now accessible via a side-opening door, and the hardtop, equipped with a built-in accessory compartment. Last nut not least, all buyers will get a one-year pre-paid subscription to SeaNapps to track engine running hours and maintenance needs directly from their smartphone.

Extraordinarily comfortable are the new double, padded and adjustable seats, as well as an additional storage compartment for tools and equipment. All these improvements will make Wellcraft Fisherman boats suitable also for longer excursions in terms of time and distance.

The new Wellcraft 435

The new Wellcraft 435 is part of thePerformance Cruiser” series, especially designed for offshore cruising and well as adventure and lifestyle enthusiasts.

wellcraft-fisherman-435

The Wellcraft 435 stands out for its highly responsive controls, located in an ergonomically designed cockpit that promises comfortable offshore experiences even in harsh sea conditions. The on-board instruments have everything you need to go out to sea worry-free.

Wellcraft 435 is the largest model in the Performance Cruiser series, boasting a length of 44 feet (13 metres), and can be equipped with engines of up to 1050 horsepower. The builder’s space configuration is excellent: the helm station, completely enclosed but with opening windows, even offers the possibility of air conditioning and heating, and the fully equipped galley is a perfect space for relaxing or convivial moments. Completing the interior are the two spacious cabins below deck, complete with a bathroom and a separate shower. All these elements, combined with the sturdiness of the hull, make the Wellcraft 435 a gem for any offshore excursion.

It was the year 2018 when, during a sparkling Dusseldorf boat show, I interviewed Andrea Cragnotti who, at the time, was already the Sales Director for Italy, Spain and Portugal for the Jeanneau and Prestige brands. About that interview I was very impressed by the following statement that, in my humble opinion, it is now imperative to quote.

I travel about 150 days a year to have direct contact with our network. We have invested in people, in the seriousness, the expertise of women and men who have direct contact with the market and from whom we therefore receive important input for strategic, commercial and product choices.”

Perhaps better than anything else, this statement succeeds in describing Andrea Cragnotti, both as a manager and as a man, and today it is as relevant as ever given that we are at FLIBS, Florida, and Andrea has just been appointed the new Sales Director Large Yachts of PRESTIGE. An important role, which will see him manage worldwide the marketing of the large yachts of this shipyard that, with the new PRESTIGE M8 and the X-Line, is literally revolutionizing the market.

The new Prestige M8
The new Prestige M8

Andrea, what does this new role consist of, for which our congratulations are mandatory, and what are the goals you have set for yourself?

” First of all, I would like to thank you for your congratulations and for these nice words. Let’s start with the fact that PRESTIGE has become in the last 10 years the leading player in the motor yacht sector between 42 and 59 feet by number of units built. We are the undisputed leader in this market because our sales exceed those of all our competitors. My appointment represents the yard’s desire to take this leadership to the 60- to 70-foot range as well, and probably one day even further… This requires someone who is fully committed to the product, the distribution network, and customer service.
My role will therefore have a comprehensive approach, going from product development to marketing, from communication to delivery of the boat to the customer, thus accompanying the growth of the brand there where the customer has even higher expectations. Another major responsibility will be distribution; dealers continue to play a key role, our partners are our ambassadors around the world, and after 16 years of working in the group, I am fortunate to know our entire sales network very well.”

Andrea-Cragnotti-interior-PRESTIGE-M8
Andrea Cragnotti makes us discover the interior of the new PRESTIGE M8

Prestige, the genius of Camillo Garroni and innovation. An explosive mix of ingredients blended with a market that is demanding ever-larger boats. What is Andrea Cragnotti’s vision in this regard?

“Well, Camillo is a key element of our success, of the latter but also of the former, with his father Vittorio, saying that is a must. PRESTIGE’s link with the Garroni studio is a successful union that has been going on for 25 years, and Camillo is an extraordinary “son of art” who manages not only to live up to his father’s standards (which is not so obvious) but, in some ways, by venturing a bit more than his father, has managed to create and produce some extraordinary innovations such as for the X-Line or the very recent M8″.

Camillo has both the genius and a very high ability to adapt his architectural engineering product to an industrial boatyard. Something that is not for everyone, because it is very easy to have genius ideas but then you also have to make 200 boats a year with an industrial system. He, on the other hand, knows how we work and so he can do a very good job.”

Andrea-Cragnotti-PRESTIGE-X70PRESTIGE M8 is the American premiere of this event. More specifically, it’s also a catamaran. How is the marketing reacting to this new product line?

“There is a general enthusiasm around this boat, which, starting from the European boat shows, has already won several awards and is also a success in terms of numbers. It is a boat that has extraordinary features, both in terms of surface area and space, volume and also in terms of consumption, which is very low, so really an interesting product.
We strongly believe in the potential of motor-powered catamarans; people who have an experience, whether it’s a charter vacation or the purchase of such a boat, are unlikely to go back to the monohull afterwards.
There is also a growing focus on ecology and emissions so it is a product that is already having a lot of success now and will grow even more in the coming years.”

PRESTIGE, however, is also synonymous with high-end boats built with high quality standards. Who is your typical owner and how much do they identify with this brand?

“We strongly believe in owner loyalty. Many of our customers start perhaps with a smaller boat and then grow, thus creating an established relationship with us and our sales network.
PRESTIGE also invests a lot of resources in events dedicated to our owners; every year we organize appointments, both at the shipyard and at sea, to allow them to touch the new products and, above all, to be together.

Our typical boat owner is a person who looks for ergonomic solutions, who lives the sea and who therefore looks for a seaworthy boat. He is obviously looking for the comfort of a luxury motor yacht, however, he is also looking for a “timeless” item, with a design intended not to age over time and characterized by great elegance.”
