A new 42-footer is joining the Greenline Yachts range. The leading builder of hybrid and sustainable motorboats announced it at the Cannes Yachting Festival: the new Greenline 42 is already under construction at the Slovenian shipyard and will be available in early 2026. Once launched, the yacht will set new standards for a brand already well known among seasoned boaters for its exceptional comfort and energy self-sufficiency.

Greenline 42: excellent performance

With a better optimised hull, the boat has a higher top speed of 30 knots for the same incredibly efficient 2x 250hp power train. Refined naval architecture rethought by Micad, reduces drag, while Greenline’s proprietary H-Drive 6G optimises battery charging and fuel consumption, allowing silent electric manoeuvring. Meanwhile, four additional solar panels on the coach roof will bring the total to 10, whose maximum output of 4.1kW will run all hotel appliances and recharge the battery bank even faster.

The Greenline 42 redefines onboard social spaces, offering greater flexibility and smarter use of every corner. The aft cockpit offers two radically different layouts, including features such as a drop-down transom, lowering swim platform and the option of fully removable furniture. There is also a new foredeck lounge area over the anchor covers, in line with the design of the larger Greenline 58.

side view

Greenline Yachts believes that fantastic design has no shelf-life, so we don’t seek to constantly update or replace our models – said owner and CEO Vladimir ZinchenkoWhen we do finally introduce a new boat, it is therefore no light decision. You can be sure that the new Greenline 42 has absorbed every inch of our know-how and will provide a reference in the market for decades to come. Timeless, long-lived design is a key part of our Responsible Yachting commitment”.

A new interior look

Marco Casali extends his partnership with the brand by designing not only the exterior, but also three interior styles for the new yacht. From the outset, he aimed to reinvigorate rather than reinvent Greenline’s timeless looks and luxurious practicality. Built around a natural colour palette and renewable materials, there is ‘honey teak’ or ‘modern oak’.

Small developments to the classic Greenline interior lay-out will also delight connoisseurs. Aft windows by the galley can now be slid effortlessly down to provide better ventilation, for instance. Then there’s the ability to decide whether there should be a second guest bathroom below or rather a walk-in closet or dedicated vanity table for the owner. And for the first time on a Greenline, there are dashboard-style climate controls at the helm station to keep you cool, or warm, as required.

Greenline 42-Main Salon

In fact, the options on this new Greenline 42 are legion. Pick your selection on cabins, wardrobes and toilets; your choice of fridges and freezers in various formats; and an extra sofa in the saloon. Not for nothing is Greenline calling this boat its most customisable model ever.

The Greenline 42 was an exciting challenge for us. We need to follow the huge success of the other models adding even more comfort on board and a more modern shape respecting our timeless lines. From the interior point of view the big revolution was the full glass ending of the saloon that allows big openings of the galley and creates a strong connection with the cockpit now offered in two versions. On the exterior side instead, we tried to connect the modern shape of the new Greenline projects we designed like the 58 with the classic shape that a boat like this is asking for”, said Casali.

Elegant and timeless design, stunning spaces and outstanding performance. Unveiled at the the Palm Beach International Boat Show, the new GX34 from GX Superyachts is proof that responsible design in yachting need make no compromise on comfort or functionality, even on lage-sized boats.
The announcement of the new model, which comes shortly after news of construction beginning on the flagship GX42, has generated great excitement—a sign that the new brand launched by Greenline Yachts, a leader in the production of efficient hybrid yachts up to 58 feet for over 15 years, has hit the mark in meeting the demand for sustainable superyachts. GX Superyachts aims to produce an ambitious range of aluminum superyachts from 24 to 56 meters, combining high levels of luxury with respect for the planet, with the GX34 and GX42 being just the first two models.

gx34

“Palm Beach is the perfect backdrop for the launch of our second groundbreaking superyacht, the GX34 – said Vladimir Zinchenko, owner and founder of GX Superyachts –Our philosophy of Responsible Yachting remains at the design’s core, with hybrid electric propulsion and a deeply efficient hull lines. Combined with its slick lines and enormous comfort for guests, we believe that the GX34 represents the future of Responsible Yachting ”.

Sustainability at the core of the GX34

Like its bigger sister, the heart of the GX34 project is the tantalising promise of the full superyacht lifestyle without the full CO2 emissions that usually accompany it. Under the banner of the Responsible Yachting movement, GX Superyachts is spearheading a revolution in the way that even large yachts can maximise electrical power and reduce their reliance on traditional diesel. The result for the GX34 is emissions that are 30% lower than the standard.

Through sister company Greenline Yachts, GX Superyachts can draw on decades of experience in hybrid diesel-electric propulsion. The solution combines twin 200kW electric motors with up to 2132kW of diesel power, for the best of both worlds. There is silent and vibration-free electric propulsion over short distances with powerful, efficient internal combustion engines for greater speeds and distances. A vast lithium-ion battery bank of up to 800kWh permits optimum power management.

gx34

With the option of up to 46 solar panels for. The GX34 RPH set into the superstructure and hard top, the GX34 can generate up to 30MWh of solar energy per year to spend long periods at anchor without the need to switch on the generators. Even with the air conditioning turned right up and the help of the very efficient battery, the yacht can run hotel systems in silent electric mode for up to 48 hours, ensuring guests get a comfortable night’s sleep. And with a greater reliance on natural ventilation, that silent period lengthens considerably.

When battery levels fall too low, super-efficient generators start up automatically for rapid three-hour charging. And for longer, faster passages, the twin diesel engines take the strain. In this mode, the electric motors can serve as battery chargers as well, utilising energy ‘wasted’ by the engines. This ensures that the GX34 reaches its destination with full batteries.

Contrary to what is common said about hybrid and electric motors, rhe GX34 delivers impressive performance, boasting an oceanic range of 10,000 nautical miles in hybrid mode at 6 knots. It cruises comfortably at 12 knots and can reach a top speed of 16 knots, depending on the chosen performance package, which includes the option of 2x 749kW engines. Larger engine configurations and “Hybrid Sport” packages are currently under study.

Super yachting lifestyle

To create an exceptional product takes exceptional design, so GX Superyachts has assembled a team of internationally prominent designers. Marco Casali is responsible for the exterior looks and the interior styling, while Francesco Rogantin of NAMES has tuned the naval architecture for maximum efficiency and stability.

The GX34 unveiled at Palm Beach is the raised pilot house (RPH) variant, with a low-profile flybridge crowning the superstructure. But like all GX Superyachts, there is a Fly and an even slicker Coupe version available, where the roof of the superstructure forms a single elegant convex curve.

All GX34 models feature a generously shaded guest cockpit aft with dining space and comfortable lounge seating. A sensational entertaining and relaxing space is centred on the lower aft deck, which grows to more than 50 square metres of space when the two side wings are lowered. There’s the option of a saltwater pool integrated into the aft platform, which has been designed to lift and store a tender up to 4.5m long.

On the GX34 RPH version, the generous flybridge deck can be configured according to the owner’s wishes. Informal dining, epic lounging space and a bar are all part of the vision, and the designers have also studied the option for a Jacuzzi, positioned aft with an unbeatable view.

Proportions for the interior are equally grandiose. There are five guest cabins, the jewel of which is naturally the owner’s stateroom, occupying pride of place forward on the main deck. From the owner’s king-size bed, there are sweeping 270-degree views of the horizon through deep glazing.

Naturally enough at this scale, the owner is welcome to bring their own designer to the project, but Casali has imagined an interior that perfectly complements the clean, aerodynamic lines of the exterior. It’s all about natural woods, leathers and stones that create a comfortable, calming oasis. These are carefully selected for their sustainability, closing the circle on this yacht’s philosophy of Responsible Yachting.

The U.S. distributor of the GX34 is Northrop & Johnson, a leading yacht brokerage firm committed to innovation and excellence in the industry. “As we celebrate our 75th year, we are thrilled to partner with GX Superyachts, a brand that exemplifies forward-thinking design and sustainable yachting – said Northrop&Johnson President and CCO Cromwell Littlejohn –The GX42 and the broader GX lineup represent the future of luxury yachting, and we are excited to bring these groundbreaking vessels to the Americas. This collaboration underscores our commitment to representing best-in-class yachts that push the boundaries of efficiency, technology, and luxury ”.

Greenline Yachts takes another big step in the direction of responsible yachting. The Slovenian shipyard, leader in the construction of hybrid motorboats, has indeed launched the Responsible Power Pack technology, a sound combination of bigger battery package and alternators allowing lower emissions without any compromise on comfort and the way the yachts are used. Among the other benefits of this new technology, boats will now offer at least 48 hours of silent battery power at anchor or docks. Owners can run the entire boat (including aircon full blast) and make the most of their floating home without the noise, vibration and smell of a generator. Not to mention consumptions!

Greenline yachts 48 Fly

No more generators with Greenline Yachts

The Responsible Power Pack technology is truly revolutionary. Instead of a traditional generator, Greenline will fit a high-powered alternator that can take power from the engine when it runs to recharge a large lithium battery bank. In this way, the yacht can arrive at its destination with full batteries, ready for days of silent operation at anchor. When energy is used efficiently, the autonomy of the yacht can be extended for days by using solar power to cover hotel loads such as induction cooking and lighting.

The new technology will particularly fit those owners who still opt for a conventionally diesel powered Greenline yacht but are sensitive to new way of interpreting their yachting with a more responsible philosophy. Starting today, these yacht owners will no longer need a dedicated generator.

“For conventional yachts, eliminating the generator is nothing short of revolutionary – said Vladimir Zinchenko, owner of Greenline Yachts – There is barely a yacht on the market in Greenline’s class of length and luxury that is capable of doing this. My mission has always been to further the concept of responsible yachting, and this shift towards using high-powered alternators and batteries will save tonnes of CO2 emissions”.

Greenline 58 Fly-Exterior

Case study: Greenline 45

As an example of emission reduction, Greenline Yachts has made a calculation applied to the Greenline 45, the best-selling model from the Slovenian shipyard. In the past, this yacht has needed an 11kW generator to cover hotel loads, consuming 4 litres of fuel per hour. It often runs constantly in order to power the air conditioning unit, amounting to consumption of nearly 200 litres over a 48-hour period at anchor.

Fitted with the new Responsible Power Pack, it would require just 9 hours of motoring to fully recharge the 34.2kWh batteries, giving emissions-free power on board for more than 48 hours. To produce its 6kW of power, the alternator places additional load on the engine which does marginally increase fuel consumption for that period. However, when compared side by side, the new system slashes the emissions of covering hotel loads by up to 88 per cent. The following chart, provided by Greenline Yachts, is more effective than words.

RPP-preview-4-white-6

The figures are unequivocal – said Greenline Yachts Chief Commercial Officer Luca Raumland. Our Responsible Power Pack can eliminate a staggering amount of the carbon emissions associated with running a yacht at anchor. By tapping the engine’s spare power when the yacht is under way, we can make non-hybrid models almost as efficient to operate as their hybrid alternatives. In fact, with careful use of the aircon, the solar panels fitted as standard to every yacht can fully replenish the batteries during the day and keep you emissions-free at anchor indefinitely”.

For Greenline Yachts, this is another step into the future, following the recent launch of the GX Superyachts brand, an ambitious range of hybrid aluminum superyachts ranging from 24 to 56 meters.

At the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, one of the most innovative superyacht brands of recent years was unveiled. We’re talking about GX Superyachts, launched during the U.S. show held from October 30 to November 3. The brand debuts with an ambitious range of aluminum superyachts measuring between 24 and 56 meters, combining high levels of luxury with respect for the planet. The first 42-meter model is already under construction.

GX Superyachts is the brainchild of Greenline Yachts, which has been producing efficient hybrid yachts up to 58ft for more than 15 years. Taking that experience of cutting-edge hybrid propulsion, smart hull design and solar charging, they have made the next step by addressing their vision to the superyacht sector. The result is a line-up of 24-56m custom yachts which offer seductive design and extraordinary comfort.

Of course, the new brand GX Superyachts fully embraces Greenline’s core principle of responsible yachting. The yachts of the new brand will set a new benchmark in environmental performance centered on Greenline’s unique serial hybrid drive and powerful solar arrays which form part of the structure of the yacht.

GX42 cruising

“Our journey started with Greenline Yachts, where we pioneered the world’s first serial production hybrid yacht over 10 meters back in 2008 – said yard owner Vladimir ZinchenkoWith more than 1,000 yachts delivered globally, Greenline has been at the forefront of innovation in the boating industry. Throughout that time, we have tried to further our vision of responsible yachting – from sourcing raw materials right through to the operation of the yacht itself ”.

GX Superyachts has also appointed Andrea Armas as consultant to the Board of Directors. Andrea is a seasoned professional with 28 years of experience as an owner’s representative for major international shipyards, to serve as an advisor to the Board. A naval architect and marine engineer specializing in yacht building supervision for discerning owners. “I am backing GX Superyachts because I admire their ambition and vision – he stated – My goal is to help the team translate their decade-long experience in hybrid recreational boat building into the highly regulated superyacht sector”.

The regal inspiration of GX Superyachts

The idea of broadening Greenline’s commercial and environmental success into the superyacht sector was born at a previous edition of the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018. Greenline’s all-electric 9.99m yacht caught the eye of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco. The idea sparked that day has now reached its first fruition with the launch of GX Superyachts.

“Each yacht in our GX Superyacht range is equipped with our innovative hybrid propulsion system, allowing for both efficient electric cruising and powerful diesel performance when needed – explained Chief Commercial Officer, Luca RaumlandAt 6 knots in electric mode, these yachts can achieve an incredible range of up to 100 nautical miles. In diesel mode, they can cross the Atlantic at 12 knots, while the max range is 11571nm at 6 knots”.

When compared to a conventional superyacht, the GX range will haveless than 40 per cent of the carbon emissions – a staggering achievement at this scale. These radically lower emissions are important, but it is not the whole story. Like Greenline Yachts, GX Superyachts are designed with an extensive solar array and a large lithium battery bank which together mean that the boat can lie silently at anchor for 48 hours or more. During this time, full hotel systems including aircon run off the batteries without the need to fire up a generator. The result is no noise, vibration or smell from combustion.

GX Superyachts GX42

GX42 in build

Greenline Yachts has gained significant traction among owners in the United States. It’s no surprise, then, that the first customer to sign for the purchase of a GX Superyacht came through the Greenline USA network. Construction of the first GX42 is already well underway: the keel-laying ceremony took place on June 1, 2024, and over 50% of the hull has already been welded. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2026.

One of the biggest decisions for the team behind GX Superyachts was where to build the new yachts. Greenline is specialized in composite construction, with facilities in Slovenia that can accommodate yachts up to 24m in length. So, a lot of thinking went into the choice of a new build partner for larger aluminum yachts. From more than 20 shortlisted yards, GX finally signed with custom specialist SES Yachts of Tuzla, Turkey.

“There’s no better time to launch this project than now, as we mark the 50th anniversary of our activity – said Elif Yıldırım, Managing Partner of SES – We embrace custom and semi-custom projects, and the new GX Superyachts range plays perfectly to the skills we have in house. What’s more, we understand and share the principles behind the brand, being a family-owned business ourselves and just as concerned about sustainability. Collaboration on the first model has been very smooth, and we are looking forward to building more yachts with GX ”.

The attention to design of GX Superyachts

GX Superyachts gathers some of the best names in the yachting design industry. Marco Casali (Too Design) is responsible for the achingly sleek exterior lines of the new range. Each model is available in two variants. The Coupe has a long, curved superstructure roofed with gleaming solar panels, which slide apart at the touch of a button to reveal a huge hidden sun deck complete with jacuzzi and bar. The RPH version offers a large flybridge with an uncompromising modern aesthetic and 353 gross tonnes of volume. Both are endowed with a vast beach club that has fold-down wings and a hydraulic platform.

Casali has also deployed his talents to design an interior that delivers on the promises of those lines and creates a single, coherent whole, from the generous aft decks into the main salon to the flybridge. His vision for the styling of the first GX42 draws on some of the finest specialized brands in the world. For instance, the yacht’s bathrooms are fitted with Antonio Lupi porcelainware and Dornbracht faucets. Loose furniture comes from Poltrona Frau and Rugiano, while exquisite Foglizzo leathers and natural wood flooring by Cadorin also feature.

“Our studio has long worked with Greenline Yachts, so we understood exactly what the new GX Superyachts brief required – said Marco Casali– I am proud of the way we have reinterpreted the timeless looks of the smaller yachts to give soul and purpose to the lines of the new superyachts. And it is a real pleasure to be responsible for both the exterior and the interior, which results in a really harmonious finish. The challenge around sustainability is particularly close to my heart ”.

GX42M bow

On the technical side, Francesco Rogantin of NAMES studio has drawn an underwater hull that maximizes stability as well as speed potential. This is an important element behind the phenomenal range of a GX Superyacht, even at its respectable cruising speed.

That with GX Superyachts felt like a very natural partnership since the shipyard knew exactly what they wanted: a hyper-efficient and stable displacement hull – says Rogantin – The challenge was to analyze the different operational scenarios and ensure that the hull and appendages performed to their best for each one. We deployed a powerful suite of tools to achieve this”.

Greenline Yachts had a major presence at the world’s largest in-water boat show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held from October 30th to Novembre 3rd. With no fewer than four of its innovative hybrid models on the water, it was a real showcase of the Slovenian yard’s capabilities. Specifically, visitors had the opportunity to admire the Greenline 39, the Greenline 40, the Greenline 45 Fly and the Greenline 48 Fly, along with the US premiere of the new 6G Hybrid system that is scheduled to become the standard of the whole range.

Greenline yachts-48-exterior-2

Greenline Yachts is excited to be back in Fort Lauderdale, where it has enjoyed so much success in the past – said owner and CEO Vladimir Zinchenko – The American market has long appreciated the user-inspired features that make Greenline yachts so livable, not to mention the potential for silent electric operation. And this year, there is a stronger incentive than ever to join the Greenline family, as Washington state is waiving sales tax on new hybrid yachts. That could mean savings in excess of $100,000 for smart buyers”.

GL-40

The 6G Hybrid System Revolution

Greenline Yachts has been a pioneer in hybrid marine technology since 2008, combining electric propulsion with conventional diesel power to maximize efficiency and minimize noise. At the heart of today’s lineup is the innovative 6G Hybrid Drive, part of a cutting-edge power management solution that seamlessly blends solar energy, shore power, and a diesel engine.

With the 6G H-Drive, Greenline boats can instantly switch between electric and diesel modes. In electric mode, you enjoy the serenity of near-silent cruising for up to 20 nautical miles – perfect for peaceful coastal journeys or quiet anchorages. For longer adventures or when higher speeds are required, the diesel engine efficiently powers the yacht while recharging the batteries, ensuring no energy goes to waste.

This system is available across Greenline’s entire range of yachts, from 39ft to 58ft, offering a more sustainable way of yachting. In fact, real world testing shows that the 6G H-Drive can reduce the carbon footprint of using a Greenline yacht by up to 40%. Whether you’re navigating in electric mode or relying on diesel for extended range, the system delivers an unmatched balance of efficiency and performance, making every voyage a responsible choice for the environment.

Greenline Yachts propulsion is unparalleled

Greenline’s patented 6G H-Drive offers a significant advantage, especially when compared to the competition – said CCO Luca RaumlandBut it’s not just about the hybrid system—since 2008, every Greenline yacht has come standard with our highly efficient diesel engines, a solar roof, and a lithium battery bank. This setup allows you to power all on-board appliances without ever needing a generator, making it as close to emissions-free as possible. The configuration is also ideal for regions where 24/7 air conditioning isn’t necessary, offering a quiet and eco-friendly experience. However, we noticed that many of our clients still preferred a backup generator, specially where air-condition is needed, so we knew we had to take things to the next level. To ensure our standard, non-hybrid Greenlines are also generator-free, we’ve spent the past year testing a solution that combines our hybrid battery technology with upgraded alternators. Today, we can confidently say that this setup eliminates the need for diesel generators—even for those who want to run air conditioning!

Starting in 2025, this will become the new standard across our entire fleet as part of our ongoing commitment to responsible yachting and reducing emissions in everyday operations”.

GREENLINE 58 FLY HYBRID : nineteen meters of pure, unapologetic style. This is precisely the first stunning impression this model conveys with its harmonious interiors, expansive outdoor spaces, and the ability to cruise in complete silence.

This boat captivates with superyacht-level finishes and truly unique fuel efficiency. As the current flagship of the Greenline fleet, it demonstrates how luxury and ecological responsibility can seamlessly coexist. Thanks to its next-generation hybrid propulsion and carefully curated interiors, emissions are reduced by up to 40% compared to a standard diesel engine. The shipyard in fact, as a pioneer in hybrid propulsion, first introduced this technology to the market in 2008. Years of experience have led to peak onboard efficiency, with the H-Drive 6G hybrid system being the most efficient Greenline Yachts has developed to date.

GREENLINE 58 FLY HYBRID exterior

Exteriors

The retractable bathing platform at the stern has a depth of nearly 2 meters, spacious enough to lay out loungers and chairs for an unbeatable seaside atmosphere. The shipyard has also added a small sofa here, perfect for enjoying a drink right by the water. Like the Coupé version, the main deck at the stern offers an elegant and comfortable multifunctional space, connecting guests with the ocean and surrounding environment. The extra-wide side decks and tall bulwarks provide excellent protection when heading to the bow in rough seas, with grab rails along the path for added safety—especially useful when children are inevitably running from one end of the boat to the other.

The bow section accommodates an impressively spacious sundeck comfortable for three people, along with two side sofas that create a cozy lounge area ideal for chatting and relaxing. Returning to the stern, you can head up to the flybridge, where the shipyard has created another elegance zone, with ample seating and open space everywhere, including an aft terrace that can accommodate two large chaise lounges. The helm station, positioned to starboard, offers exceptional visibility, making maneuvering remarkably easy—even for a 19-meter yacht like the Greenline 58 Fly.

Interior

The large windows and frameless windshield transform the boat’s interior into a bright, open space with a strong connection to the sea. The extra-large galley is positioned aft and can be fully opened to the outer deck thanks to a glass door and a folding window. Spacious and well-equipped with refrigerators, a freezer, induction cooktop, and dishwasher, it offers a good space where it is easy to prepare a special meal.

Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid interior

With a clear view from bow to stern, there are no obstructions, allowing for a truly stunning panorama. Starboard, there are elegant sofas, and to port, a dinette where the table can be raised or lowered for dining, having coffee, enjoying a drink, or relaxing indoors on cooler days. Soft wood tones, refined materials, and onboard comfort make this GREENLINE 58 FLY a true villa on the water.

The materials selected by Greenline Yachts and designer Marco Casali align with the shipyard’s commitment to responsible yachting. Fabrics made from recycled fibers, sustainable woods, and recycled PET foam minimize the yacht’s environmental footprint. What’s more, waste is recycled or used to generate heat.

Lower Deck

Descending a wide staircase, we reach the lower deck, where an atrium gives access to the three cabins. The most stunning of all, the owner’s suite, spans the entire beam of the yacht midship. Generous hull windows allow natural light to flood in and offer a beautiful view of the anchorage. Along with a king-size bed, there’s a sofa, a vanity table, and ample storage spaces, including a walk-in closet.

Such exceptional comfort calls for an equally spectacular bathroom, and the master suite doesn’t disappoint. Designer faucets and elegant porcelain contrast beautifully with the warm wood finishes and the graceful curves of the cabinetry.

Forward is another spacious VIP double berth, also with a private bathroom and an elegant wardrobe. Between the two, to starboard, is a flexible third cabin that can be configured as a twin for children or as a double for friends, with a private bathroom in both cases. The luckiest owners, who can spend more time onboard, might also convert this cabin into an office or a TV lounge.

Hybrid Propulsion and Sea Trial

Greenline Yachts has always paid special attention to sustainability, and the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is no exception. Indeed, it uses the same “superdisplacement” hull design as the smaller models in the range, delivering optimal performance at various speeds—from a cruising pace of 6 knots up to a top speed of 29 knots.

The H-Drive 6G is Greenline’s most efficient unit, with enhanced performance, an improved user interface, and an innovative low-voltage electric motor that allows the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid an impressive range of 20 nautical miles in silent electric mode at speeds up to 6 knots.

Moreover, the shipyard has equipped this model with a 4kW solar system, which, while offering a slight range extension, primarily provides the advantage of spending extended days and nights at anchor without needing to power up a noisy generator. By combining high-quality Greenline lithium polymer batteries with up to 20kWh of solar input, you can enjoy up to three days at anchor without using the generator—almost unlimited autonomy if air conditioning isn’t required. “Our unique ‘responsible yachting’ approach gives owners the flexibility to choose between speed when it’s needed and optimal efficiency for shorter distances – said owner and general manager Vladimir Zinchenko – The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid exemplifies this concept, though it’s also present in all of our yachts. Responsible Yachting is a philosophy that has led us to significantly reduce waste and energy consumption at the shipyard, eliminating paper marketing materials and recycling as much as possible”.

stern view

Departing your berth in complete silence with the Greenline 58 Fly is truly an incredible experience. Lines secured, forward gear engaged, and for a moment, I’m astonished by the total absense of silence aboard. The boat moves forward at minimum speed, and it’s almost surreal to maneuver 30 tons over a 19-meter length without a single hum. On the two SIMRAD screens at the helm, I can simultaneously view both internal combustion engine data and electric charging stats, keeping the yacht’s range constantly in check.

Switching between modes (electric/internal combustion or vice versa) is extremely easy—just press a button to switch modes.

This Greenline 58 Fly is equipped with two Cummins 610/715hp engines (Hybrid Drive with two 25 kW electric motors). When the combustion engine is running, the electric motor acts as a generator to recharge the batteries. The entire roof surface of the flybridge and part of the bow deck are covered in solar panels which, in turn, provide additional power for charging and maintenance.

With this configuration, the Greenline 58 Fly has an anchoring autonomy of about 48 hours (with moderate use of air conditioning); after that, a couple of hours of cruising on diesel brings the batteries back to 100%. The panels provide an average of 4kW/h of charging, and on a summer day with 10 hours of sunlight, charging can reach up to 40 kW.

Just outside Vieux Port, I switch on the combustion engine to check the charging parameters. At 600 RPM, our speed is 5 knots, but at this pace, the diesel engine isn’t charging the battery pack. Once we reach 1000 RPM, I see on the right-hand monitor that charging has kicked in, delivering 10 kW/h at a speed of 7.8 knots with fuel consumption around 22–24 L/h. Increasing the throttle to 2000 RPM, the Greenline 58 Fly glides at 15 knots while charging the batteries at 11.5 kW/h.

The sea is very calm today, allowing me to accelerate further effortlessly. At 2500 RPM, we reach 22 knots, with fuel consumption at 138–141 L/h. Onboard comfort remains absolute—the boat is free from vibrations, and the hull performs excellently, staying stable even with multiple consecutive turns.

I turn off the engine to switch to electric mode, reducing my speed to 6 knots. At this speed, the display shows an electric range of about 1 hour, but if I slow to 5 knots, my range doubles.

It’s truly impressive to cruise at 5 knots in complete silence, especially knowing we’re not polluting.

Visitors to the Cannes Yachting Festival had the opportunity to see the new Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid in action. This yacht, currently the flagship of the Greenline fleet, demonstrates how luxury and eco responsibility can co-exist. Thanks to its next generation hybrid propulsion and carefully sourced interior, emissions are up to 40 % lower than a standard diesel.

The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid features the Slovenian brand’s famously efficient lines, but with the added attraction of a generous flybridge deck. This gives the boat an extra dimension for warm water cruising. The design by naval architect Marco Casali creates an elegant, timeless silhouette that successfully minimizes the appearance of the flybridge while maxing out its usable space.

Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid – Outdoor spaces

Flexibility is the keyword in the outdoor living area of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid. As well as a fully equipped outdoor helm station, there is room for a smart bar, a six-person dining table and open deck for loungers or seating. A sturdy three-bar guard rail at the aft end gives way to a glass bulwark forward, both doing an excellent job of safety.

The main deck aft offers a sleek, comfortable multifunctional space. Its centerpiece is the beautiful square dining table, with deep sofas down two sides and open ocean view. Down a short flight of teak-lined steps on each quarter, you reach the bathing platform, which is another stand-out feature of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid. Here there is almost 2m depth – enough to lay out loungers and chairs for an unbeatable water’s-edge atmosphere. Or use the hydraulic controls to lower the platform into the sea as a large swim step. The handy upholstered seat set into the transom swings open to reveal a large storage area for water toys. The tender is carried on the bathing platform when under way and has the capacity for a jet tender up to 500kg, although a lighter boat is recommended for performance reasons. Naturally, Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid also boasts a foredeck lounging area.

GL58 Fly Flybridge

Bright, open plan saloon

Generous windows and a mullion-less windscreen transform the interior of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid into a bright convivial space that keeps a strong connection with the ocean. The extra-large galley is positioned aftmost, and can be fully opened to the deck outside thanks to the glass door and swing-up window.

Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid interior

One of Greenline’s trademark features is the cavernous space under the galley sole, which can be turned to a number of useful purposes. Some owners like to devote this room to extra food storage, others opt for a laundry room and technical space, while still others turn the volume over to a self-contained captain’s cabin.

The materials chosen by Greenline Yachts and Marco Casali owe much to the yard’s philosophy of responsible yachting. These are fabrics from recycled fibers, sustainable woods and foam made from recycled PET. What’s more, waste is either recycled or used to generate heat. The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is offered with two interior moods that reflect different personalities: a cool mood invoking whites and light blues; and a warmer finish that uses more natural off-whites and beiges.

The sleeping zone is reached down a broad staircase to the lower deck, where a lobby gives access to the three cabins. The pick of them all, the owner’s suite, fills the full beam of the boat amidships. Generous hull lights bring natural light flooding in and give wonderful views of the anchorage. Besides the king-size double bed, there is a sofa, vanity table and lots of storage, including a walk-in wardrobe. Extreme comfort on this scale calls for an equally spectacular bathroom, and the master suite doesn’t disappoint. Designer fittings and elegant porcelainware contrast with the warm, woody finish and the elegant curves of the joinery. It makes for a tranquil, calming space, with a separate heads and shower cubicle.

Another vast VIP double berth lies at the bow, also with an ensuite bathroom. Between the two to starboard is a flexible third cabin which can be configured as a twin for children or a double for friends – with an ensuite in either case. Long-term liveaboard owners could also turn this cabin into an office or even a dedicated TV room.

Hybrid Propulsion

Greenline Yachts has always put sustainability front and center, and the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is no different. Indeed, it uses the same hyper efficient ‘superdisplacement’ hull design as the smaller boats in the range, which gives optimum performance at a number of different speeds – from 6-knot cruising speed up to 29 knots flat-out.

As a pioneer in the hybrid space, Greenline Yachts has been honing its technology for over 15 years, and the latest iteration allows the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid to offer an impressive range of 20 nautical miles in silent electric mode with speeds up to 6 knots. Across the typical use cycle of a Greenline Yacht, the hybrid system delivers a cut in emissions of up to 40 per cent.

GL58-Fly-Lifestyle-exterior

The solar roof concept puts a 4kW solar array to work at the service of the boat’s hotel services. Although it can also increase the yacht’s range a little, its main benefit is to enable long days and nights at anchor without needing to fire up a noisy generator. Combining Greenline’s high-quality lithium polymer batteries with up to 20kWh of solar input gives an astonishing three days at anchor without the generator. That extends indefinitely if the aircon is not required.

Our unique approach to responsible yachting gives owners the option of speed when it matters and optimum efficiency over shorter distances – said owner and MD Vladimir Zinchenko The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid exemplifies the concept, but it’s also found across all our yachts. Responsible Yachting is a philosophy which has led us to make significant reductions in waste and energy usage at the yard, eliminating paper-based marketing material and recycling as much as we can”.

Greenline Yachts has always prioritized environmental sustainability, and the new Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is no exception. The new flagship from the Slovenian shipyard will be unveiled at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, and it is expected to capture the market’s attention, just as Greenline’s previous models have. The event will take place from September 10th to 15th at Quai St Pierre, where visitors to the French boat show will have the opportunity to experience the new vessel first-hand.

Greenline-58-Fly-lifestyle-exterior

The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is an ultra-efficient yacht equipped with Greenline’s new-generation H-Drive hybrid propulsion, demonstrating how maximum comfort can perfectly coexist with responsible yachting. Greenline Yachts has led the transition to hybrid propulsion for over 15 years, so they have had the time to refine the performance of their drive systems. The latest innovation is the 6G unit, which is even more efficient than its predecessors.

Greenline-58-Fly-Exterior

The performance data is impressive. The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid offers a range of 20 nautical miles in silent electric mode, with speeds up to 6 knots. In the typical usage cycle of a Greenline yacht, the hybrid system can reduce emissions by up to 40% per year. On top of the boat, the 4kW solar system allows for long days and nights at anchor without having to turn on a noisy generator. Thanks to the capabilities of solar energy and onboard batteries, the boat offers up to three days at anchor without a generator; and if air conditioning is not needed, the time extends practically indefinitely.

Greenline Yachts’ new 6G H-Drive draws on 16 years of constant development – said owner and MD Vladimir ZinchenkoWe’ve been in this game since our launch, so our yachts are miles ahead of the competition when it comes to efficient hybrid propulsion and silent hotellerie. We’re excited to be showcasing the technology alongside our concept of Responsible Yachting at Cannes through our flagship model: the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid”.

galley

Alongside the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid, Greenline Yachts will also be showing two of its best-selling models at the Cannes Yachting Festival. Both the Greenline 48 Coupe and the Greenline 45 Fly will be on the stand in Cannes’ iconic Vieux Port. Both hugely successful models have sold more than 100 units, and they neatly illustrate Greenline’s two different superstructure options: the sleek Coupe variant and the luxurious Fly.

What’s more, they are both available with a range of engine options that include Yanmar’s new HVO-ready diesels. This allows the two yachts to burn more sustainable HVO fuel, derived from waste vegetable oil. It is being rolled out across marine hotspots and offers the possibility of radically reducing carbon emissions at no cost to performance. It is another facet of Greenline Yachts’ commitment to Responsible Yachting.

Evergreen yacht design is a rare touch, but this is exactly what happened to the Greenline 48 – Although the original design of this mid-sized cruiser was first unveiled 10 years ago, it has proven a hugely successful model and still sells around 12 units every year. The 120th hull will be delivered later this year, the ultimate proof of Greenline’s philosophy of responsible and sustainable yachting.

Greenline 48 Hybrid

The appeal of the Greenline 48 is based around timeless styling, an incredibly efficient hull and drivetrain, plus the choice of either a flybridge or a coupe profile. Factor in Greenline Yachts’ flexible interior layout and meticulous finish quality, and you have all the elements for a truly amazing boat.

We always wanted Greenline Yachts to do things differently to other yacht builders, so we’ve focused on Responsible Yachting and innovation throughout our range – said owner and CEO of the Slovenian shipyard, Vladimir ZinchenkoI’ve always seen model longevity as a sign we’re doing both these things right, because it means that our boats are making and keeping owners happy. By avoiding fads and trends, Greenline Yachts remain coveted for year after year, amortising their carbon emissions over a much longer period”.

Greenline 48 Fly

Launched at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in 2014, the Greenline 48 is often described as a classic gentleman’s cruiser because it attracts both experienced power boaters and ex-sailors. Its smart design is the key here. Its volume is slightly larger but similar to the Greenline 45, with which it shares many features, but the Greenline 48 positions the master cabin forward, where it benefits from abundant natural ventilation.

Additionally, the meticulously designed hull has a relatively broad, shallow forefoot, which means that wavelets slide past at anchor rather than slapping loudly on the topsides. In fact, the forward section of the hull is more reminiscent of a sailing boat, capable of slicing through the waves in a seaway. Experienced boaters recognise that a host of such small details add up to a better experience aboard.

greenline-48-exterior

The interior of the Greenline 48 has been carefully thought through, with two large guest cabins that include flexible sliding beds enabling you to quickly switch from a twin to a double and back. Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom with shower. What’s more, there is the option to build a completely self-sufficient master cabin aft, giving up a section of the gigantic lazarette.

Fly cabin

Life aboard the Greenline 48 is naturally concentrated around the main deck with its spacious deck saloon, deep protected cockpit and lounging space fore and aft. As a result of important engineering expertise, the boat has no steps at all in the main deck between the helm station and the aft deck. The advantages here are undeniable, especially under way where the low centre of gravity makes for stability and comfort.

greenline-48

Another interesting feature of the Greenline 48 is the aft galley, which communicates with both the saloon and the cockpit through an opening window and a sliding door. “We’ve always been very proud of this feature, because it makes it so easy to start preparing food without having to duck out of the conversation between guests or family members – says chief commercial officer Luca RaumlandIt’s hard to believe now, because you see this layout in all sorts of boat, but it was originally a Greenline innovation way back in 2008”.

GL48-cockpit

Both the Flybridge and Coupe formats have their own distinct advantages. In coutries like Turkey and Unites States, a flybridge is practically mandatory, giving a stunning extra entertaining space that is open to cooling breezes. On the other hand, the Coupe has a sleeker profile with broader overhangs that help keep the interior shady and cool. This solution is especially popular in Australia and South Asia. Its coachroof also provides the perfect surface to receive the solar panels which form a key part of Greenline’s DNA. More specifically, the Greenline 48 is equipped with 9 high-quality solar panels, allowing the boat to generate more than 15kWh of power throughout the day, basically eliminating the need for a generator and increasing autonomy in line with Greenline Yachts’ responsible yachting philosophy.

greenline-48-fly-cockpit

But the Greenline 48 gets more interesting if the owner opts for Greenline Yacht’s proprietary H-Drive hybrid propulsion system. Recently upgraded to an even more capable 6G version, this proven technology combines twin 24kW electric motors with two 250hp diesel engines (option: 2x 370hp). At 5 knot e-cruising speed, the boat can cover up to 25 nautical miles in silent electric mode. The engine takes over for faster speeds up to around 24 knots, allowing you to make quick passage times and arrive with the battery full – ready for another weekend without generator noise.

GL48-salon

From the hydraulic platform aft and the hybrid H-Drive to the cavernous storage beneath the saloon floor, there are lots of smart features that make the Greenline 48 stand out – concludes Raumland – It means there is every reason to believe that the yacht will continue to enjoy many more years of bestseller status”. After all, the famous Greenline 33 was in continuous production for 16 years.

Selva T 230 VIB ed ePropulsion eLite: the test begins.

It’s no surprise that a tender and an outboard engine are two indispensable accessories. Inseparable companions of our summer cruises, they allow us to disembark, go to the beach, and accompany us on all excursions where our boat cannot take us.

The evolution of boating in recent years has brought a series of improvements that have made the use of these essential tools much simpler and lighter. On one hand, tenders have become larger, lighter, and have acquired inflatable V-hulls, while outboards have become electric and truly lightweight.

This is precisely why we have decided to test a combination that we believe represents the best possible compromise for all boats, from the smallest up to 15/16 meters, to enjoy holidays with minimal effort and maximum ease of use.

We are talking about the Selva T 230 VIB and the brand-new ePropulsion eLite, the two marine accessories we have just loaded onto the Daydreamer, our famous lab-boat, to subject them to our usual extreme tests. What follows is the first analysis of the two products, from reception to unpacking and the initial tests.

Unpacking selva and epropulsion elite

Selva T 230 VIB: the ultimate tender

At 2.32 meters in length and 18 kg in weight, the Selva T 230 VIB today represents the best compromise between habitability, stability, and weight. Equipped with a high-pressure inflatable V-hull, it’s a tender that doesn’t take up too much space on board and is very easy to handle.

The Selva T 230 VIB arrived in a well-packaged box, which, once opened, contained the following: the rolled-up tender (protected by an inner film), its storage bag, two detachable oars, the central wooden bench, the inflator, a pressure gauge, and a repair kit. An initial kit that is truly complete, to which, honestly, I wouldn’t know what to add.

Selva T 230 VIB components

We inflated the tender in about 10 minutes, using only the supplied foot pump, bringing the tubes to the operating pressure and the high-pressure hull to just under one bar of pressure. The central bench should be inserted into its slots when the tender is still half-inflated; once it reaches the operating pressure, it becomes solid with everything, providing excellent overall rigidity. Personally, I would never choose a tender without a bench, as rowing is really simple and safe this way.

The oars are easily assembled with a snap mechanism, inserted into the oarlocks with a dedicated pin that is then secured with a screw nut, covered with ergonomic plastic, and tied to the inflatable boat with a specific small rope. The high-pressure floor is equipped with convenient fastening straps, which will be useful for securing the anchor, an optional tank, or other bags and equipment on board.

The fabric of the Selva T 230 VIB is the same as that of the models we have tested before, incredibly resistant and with the great advantage of not yellowing over time. The towing rings are also the same, carefully thermowelded, becoming one with the structure.

We finally left the tender inflated without closing the valves with the appropriate screw cap, and after measuring the pressure with the provided gauge after 5 days, we did not notice any difference. It took about 15 minutes to deflate and store the tender and its equipment; the storage bag is equipped with very long compression straps that make this operation easy.

In short, it is a very well-designed and built tender, easily lifted and loaded into a car, and it truly impressed us with its construction quality. The Selva T 230 VIB can be found at Selva dealers or online, with prices ranging between 1,050 and 1,250 euros.

About ePropulsion eLite

ePropulsion eLite is the latest innovation from this manufacturer that has clearly established market leadership with consistent and robust products that, importantly, are sold at reasonable prices.

The latest addition is a completely revolutionary product that provides a simple, lightweight, and effective system for powering your tender with an electric outboard that can be used (and especially moved) by anyone.

ePropulsion eLite arrived in very sturdy packaging, with the top part listing the components inside the box, which, as usual with this manufacturer, are all of excellent quality, both the aluminum and plastic parts. Inside the package, we found: the main body of the motor, the bracket to attach it to the tender, two safety releases, the charger, the user manual, and the carrying bag.

ePropulsion eLite

The outboard engine is a single component equipped with a two-blade propeller, with its battery integrated into the outboard’s shaft. The control handle is extendable and also features a joint that allows it to be positioned both for driving and for easily carrying the accessory.

Lifting the ePropulsion eLite immediately reveals its lightness; weighing less than 7 kg, it can be easily loaded and unloaded by anyone, in any sea and weather conditions. On the top side, there is a simple yet effective display that turns on with a long press and shows the battery charge percentage with a short press.

After turning it on, it is also possible to switch to sport mode with a double click on the button; this function increases the power by 50%. Just below the display, there is a useful USB Type-C port that allows us to charge our phone or other accessories while we are out and about.

Attaching the electric outboard motor to the bracket is incredibly easy: you insert it into the appropriate pin until you hear a click, and that’s it. To release it, you only have to press a button, and the outboard is freed. The height of the outboard is adjustable, as the pin can slide on a track that allows you to set the propeller’s depth, making this very useful accessory truly universal.

I tried turning on the ePropulsion eLite out of the water, and everything works, but in the absence of immersion, its power is limited to 10W. In this mode, the propeller spins slowly and can be stopped with your hands. This safety feature protects from accidental use of the outboard, yet another demonstration of how advanced these propellers are.

The ePropulsion eLite is available from Selva dealers or online for 1,099 Euros.

Our first test

We launched the tender in the harbor (by hand due to its lightness) with its bracket already secured to the transom. We then boarded the outboard and, with equal simplicity, inserted it into its pin. Total time for both operations: 5 minutes; effort required: almost none.

We inserted the magnetic safety release into its slot, put the neoprene wrist strap on our wrist, and we were ready to go. The throttle is adjusted like on a motorcycle, but here, by turning the handle in the opposite direction, you can also go in reverse. Accelerating quickly gains speed, and at harbor speed, about 3 knots, the display indicates a remaining range of almost 2 hours. Not bad at all for such a compact outboard.

Accelerating further, the outboard engine provides plenty of thrust, but unfortunately, the sea is rough, and a storm is approaching, so reluctantly, we head back and load everything onto the Daydreamer. In a few days, we will depart for our usual testing cruise, where we will have plenty of time to use these two wonderful accessories and conduct more in-depth tests, which we will, as always, share on our pages.

Fair winds!
