May in Prague is glorious. We can finally have a beer outside some of the city's best beer gardens, music festival season kicks off and food festivals are popping up all over Prague. It's gonna be busy and tough to find time to squeeze all events in. Luckily, we've assembled a handy guide of the best events this month to help you best schedule your days. Prague events for music lovers & culture enthusiasts
May 5 2017, PVA Expo Praha (Prague 9)
The biggest indoor electro music festival in the Central Europe. A place of exclusive performances where popular artists from all around the world enjoy themselves together with their audience, jump into the crowd, play sets together and miss their flights because it is just not possible to go away from such a party.
May 13 – 14 2017, various venues
For the first time in Prague explore architecturally significant buildings including Kramář Villa (the official residence of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic), Quadrio House, Lucerna Palace, Ministry of Industry and Trade building and other unique structures.
Prague Spring International Music Festival
May 12 – June 2 2017, various venues
For more than 70 years the Prague Spring Festival has ranked among the top cultural events in the Czech Republic. Concerts and performances held within the festival are staged throughout the whole of Prague, so apart from excellent music presentations you can relish the historical backdrops of monasteries, churches and museums.
Navalis Saint John's Celebrations
May 15 2017, Charles Bridge (Prague 1)
The Saint John's Navalis festival celebrates the John of Nepomuk, who is regarded as a patron of the waterways and of Bohemia. Come and experience the mass and a baroque water concert.
Khamoro World Roma Festival
May 28 – June 3 2017, various venues
Gypsy jazz, films, storytelling, exhibitions & parade and gala concert are on the line-up for this year's highly anticipated Khamoro fest.

MINT: Weekend Market
every Saturday, Holešovice Market (Prague 7)
Skip the mall and go shopping to Holešovice Market (Hall Nr. 13 – to be more accurate), you'll discover pretty new design market that sells independent fashion, jewelry and unique accessories to all – locals or travelers! Lemarket Fashion Market
May 20 – 21 2017, Mánes Gallery (Prague 1)
The local clothing label industry has been growing and there are many local brands that you'd want to consider. Come to the spring edition of Lemarket to find your favorite Czech and Slovak local brand (a wide choice from more than 100 creators guaranteed that you won't leave empty-handed).

Czech Beer Festival

17 days of the best Czech breweries, with more than 150 top quality Czech draft beers and accompanying events every day – from beer school, through great concerts to various workshops.
River Food Festival
May 12 – 14 2017, Smíchovská Náplavka (Prague 5)
A brand-new and primarily unique food festival on the water surface promises a tropical island, night market, summer cinema or stand-up comedy performance. Entrance fee: 150 CZK per person / day.
May 13 2017, Náplavka Riverbank (Prague 2)
Come and taste local wines from Czech & Moravian winemakers and delicious products from small farmers, accompanying by live jazz and swing music. Entry fee 100 CZK per person includes a tasting glass, visitor's handbook and a pen.
Street Food Jam

Finger Food Festival

Culinary event of the year with a wise motto: No Dumb Eating, Drinking or Living! Enjoy this three-day festival in the Royal Gardens of the Prague Castle, by tasting wonderful dishes and get to know local chefs along with the top restaurants and drink producers.

Volkswagen Marathon Weekend

When you run the Volkswagen Prague Marathon, you are running through the centuries. Well-preserved across ages, Prague's renowned architectural beauty offers a spectacular glimpse into history and unforgettable future memories!
Astronomical Clock will be repaired
Please note that the popular Astronomical Clock is to be closed for repairs from May 2017 and it's expected to be running again in May of 2018. There's a video-mapping planned as a substitute for you guys. The planned repairs will also close access to the lookout gallery around the Old Town Tower, with its magnificent view over the whole city, and it's expected to re-open by November 2017.
