But the rising trend of vegetarian meals in the Czech capital show that more people here are returning to a healthier way of living and vegetarian restaurants in Prague are on the rise and they are becoming even more creative than expected...

This vegetarian restaurant is available at several locations (8 locations, to be precious) around the city, including few locations right in the city center. Our favorite one is hidden at the back of a courtyard in a narrow street behind the Our Lady before Týn church. In all of the Dhaba Beas branches, you can count with a great service, recipes from the vegetarian cuisine of North India and fresh ingredients.

This is a good place to go when you want vegetarian food in fast, buffet style. One of the most visited branches is located right in the centre of the Old Town, so you can visit it in the middle of your sightseeing tour. Choose what you want and pay for food by weight. A small health food store next door, so you can buy some healthy snacks for later (to eat at hotel room or to bring them home).

Etnosvět (Ethnoworld) restaurant is located in Prague 2, just a few steps from the I.P. Pavlova station. They daily prepare a variety of dishes from different parts of the world. During the day you can choose from three different daily menus. In the evening you have a choice of two dining concepts - a fine dining à la carte in the romantic basement or the ground floor bar where you can enjoy a brisk variable cuisine.

Estrella Vegetarian Restaurant in Prague

This tiny restaurant in the very heart of the New Town (hidden near the Národní třída station) is very friendly and cozy. Estrella changes its menu according to seasons and uses local ingredients to create contemporary spins on various cuisines. Their vegetarian borscht (and even burger) is unbelievable. They post their weekly menu online, so you can pick and choose your visits according to the selection on offer.
TIP: Dining room is a bit too small so one needs reservation in advance. Especially during lunch time.

Lehká hlava (Clear head) Vegetarian Restaurant in Prague
Boršov 2/280, Prague 1
"Clear head" was one of the Prague's first vegetarian restaurants, which makes it a top spot as a local favorite, even among non-vegetarians. The interior is unique with each room decorated in a different theme and the menu is extensive, there is a lot to choose from. Usually crowded, reservation in advance is recommended!
TIP: Its sister restaurant, Maitrea, is another reliable and memorable option.

Loving Hut Vegan Restaurant in Prague

This vegan chain probably doesn't need to be introduced to anyone as the company enjoys a world-wide brand recognition, and even „meat eaters" are regural visitors. You can find 6 restaurants all around Prague (and one in Pilsen).

Maitrea Vegan Restaurant in Prague

Just behind the Old Town Square is located a sister restaurant of Clear Head (but Maitrea is a little bit bigger – 2 floors, 90 seats) with a unique wood interior, fireplace, two indoor waterfalls and the Budha – Maitrea (derived from the Sanskrit word maitrī which means "loving-kindness"). This vegan friendly restaurant offers a wide choice of tapas, vegetarian version of Czech traditional meals (svíčková and goulash) and even hemp beer.
Attention: They do not accept credit cards, cash only (CZK, EUR, USD).

Pastva Vegan Restaurant in Prague

The name of this quite newly opened (October 2015) vegan restaurant in the Anděl district, is pasture. The dishes range from marinated smoked tofu (with homemade bread), lentil- and nut loaf to a vegan double cheesburger and freshly desserts.

Jindřišská 5, Prague 1 (little bit hidden in a passage, less crowded)
Litterally translated as weed, this popular restaurant offers a wide variety of Asian, Mexican, Indian, Pakistani & Italian cuisine. All vegan and raw. Burgers, sandwiches, cold dishes and breakfasts are on the menu daily (almost - Jindřišská is closed on Sunday).

Radost FX Vegetarian Restaurant in Prague

Does this name sound familiar to you? Sure, it's the oldest music club in Prague. But above the famous club is located also a great restaurant, well known among veggies from all around the world. This place is a little bit expensive than other above listed options, however a perfect spot for a nice evening or family gathering.
TIP: On the weekends they serve a delicious brunch (till 3pm).

Info: A very popular vegetarian restaurant called LoVeg used to be located on this address. So if you were looking especially for this one, it's closed.

TIP: Make lunch your main meal of the day, as many places offer a two-course (or three-course) lunch menu (denní nabídka) / happy hours for between €3.50 and €5,90.
